  • Interstate 35 (I-35) runs from north to south across the US. In Texas, it splits into the I-35E and I-35W to serve Forth Worth and Dallas, before merging again to the north and south of the cities.
  • Interstate 10 (I-10) runs cross-country, from Florida to California. In Texas, it joins El PasoSan Antonio and Houston.
  • Interstate 45 (I-45) starts right in the center of Dallas and heads south straight to Houston and Galveston on the coast.
  • US Route 80 (US 80) stems from the middle of Dallas, running east-west to Tybee Island, Georgia, via LouisianaMississippi and Alabama.

  • It is against the law to text when driving in Texas.
  • Headlights must be used 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise. If visibility is poor during the day, you must use your headlights when visibility is limited to 1,000ft.
  • When changing lanes on a multilane highway, if any vehicle is attempting to enter the same lane from the left, you must give way to them.
  • You must give way to traffic from the right when at an intersection. And when turning at an intersection, right-of-way goes to the vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
