  1. Exit San Antonio airport car rental center on to East Terminal Drive.
  2. Follow the one-way system on to Terminal Boulevard and Dee Howard Way to exit the airport.
  3. Make a left onto McAllister Freeway, keeping left to join US Highway 281.
  4. Follow the road as it curves south for about 10 minutes, then exit right at intersection 141A.
  5. Use East Commerce Street to drive into the San Antonio River Walk’s center.

Rush hour is usually between 7am and 9am on midweek mornings, and between 4pm and 6pm on midweek evenings, although it’s not as much as in other cities like Houston and Dallas. You can avoid congestion in your San Antonio rental by making use of frontage roads and surface streets as shortcuts to overcome traffic in the city.

 

To get to the car rental spot, in Terminal B at San Antonia International Airport– take the elevator to the Mezzanine Level, then cross the Sky Bridge. If you’re looking for shuttle services to downtown, go to the far-left end of Terminal B to take the VIA bus route 5, a 30-minute journey.
