How to unlock the Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

The KONA Electric SUV can be accessed via the traditional smart key/touch sensor or door handle button, depending on the trim. Thanks to Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch, you can also unlock the car with your smartphone or Apple Watch.

1. Make sure your smart key is within range.
2. Press the button on the door handle or the Door Unlock button on the smart key.
3. The driver’s door will unlock, and the hazard warning lights will blink twice.

How to start the Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

Before starting the vehicle, make sure your seatbelt is fastened and all electrical devices are turned off.

First, press your foot on the brake pedal and hold. While depressing the brake pedal, press the Start/Stop button located on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. That vehicle will start, and the dash lights will illuminate.

How to park a Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

Parking the KONA Electric SUV is made easy with its innovative technology. The Forward-Reverse Distance Warning system will assist you during parking.

When pulling into a parking spot, the parking sensors will warn you of objects in front or behind the vehicle via audio and visual alerts. Keep an eye on the touch screen, which will show where the object is in relation to your vehicle.

How to charge a Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

The all-new KONA Electric SUV comes with two battery pack options – both with a speedy charging rate. Follow the steps below to charge your EV battery to full.

1. Make sure your vehicle is unlocked and the engine is off.
2. Press on the right edge of the charging door to open it.
3. When the door pops out, pull it towards you, remove the dust caps then plug in the car.
4. Push your charging cable plug all the way into the input socket.
5. When the vehicle is connected, confirm that charging has initiated from the EV charging station display screen. Inside the vehicle, the battery icon on will blink on the instrument cluster for the duration of the charge.
6. After charging has started, the estimated charging time is displayed on the instrument cluster for about 1 minute.
7. When you’re ready to stop charging, check the instructions on the onscreen display on the EV charging station display screen.
8. Hold the charging connector handle and pull it while pressing the release button to safely remove. Place the dust caps back on and close the charging door.

How long does it take to charge a Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

The all-new KONA Electric SUV boasts a 64 kWh battery pack with a driving range of up to 300 miles. While it’s a slower peak charging rate than the older KONA, it can hold this rate for longer.

Charging to full capacity using the KONA Electric SUV’s Level 1 EV charger can take a while to reach full capacity. In contrast, a powerful Level 2 EV charger could see your car charge to full in approximately 10 hours.

The KONA Electric SUV also has a DC fast charge option, which charges at a rate of up to 100 kW. That means you can top it up from 10% to 80% in around 47 minutes. Its 39.2 kWh battery delivers up to 305km of driving range on a single charge.

How to increase the range of a Hyundai KONA Electric SUV?

As efficient as the KONA Electric SUV is, it can’t drive forever. However, you can extend the EV’s range in a number of ways, and it all comes down to making a few adjustments.

These include:

• Changing your driving style – driving in a smoother style with a consistent speed can prevent harsh braking and help to save energy.
• Optimizing your tire pressure – under-inflated tires can increase your energy consumption. Use a tire gauge to check the air pressure frequently and prevent tread wear.
