Driving In and Around Mobile

  • USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park car park (36527) is situated in the memorial park near the USS Alabama and the Battleship Memorial Museum.
  • Fort Conde Lot (36602) is open all day, close to Colonial Fort Conde, GulfQuest and the Mobile Convention Center. Mobile County Parking Garage (36602) offers ample parking space for your Mobile rental car and is located near to Downtown, Mobile Carnival Museum and Cathedral Square.
  • Interstate 65 (I-65) travels along the west of the city, connecting to the I-10 in the south and continuing northeast towards Montgomery
  • Interstate 10 (I-10) heads southwest from the city center and continues to Texas. It also crosses Mobile Bay, travelling east to Jacksonville in Florida.
  • Interstate 165 (I-165) joins the I-65 in the northwest of the city and meets close to the I-10 in the center.  

How to Get From Mobile Regional Airport to USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park  

It should take just over half an hour to drive the 20 miles from Mobile Regional Airport to USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in your rental car.

  1. Leave the car rental parking lot at Mobile Regional Airport via Terminal Drive.
  2. At the end of the road, turn left on to Airport Boulevard.
  3. Take the exit to join the I-65 and then keep left to head on to the I-10.
  4. Stay on this road to cross Mobile River and follow the right-hand lane to USS Alabama.

 

How to Get From Mobile to Dauphin Island

Dauphin Island is about a 40 minute drive from Mobile in your rental car. Head north out of the city on the I-10 and then join the AL-193, which will take you all the way to the island.
