Being cornered and unable to change plans due to rigid rules and regulations can make things difficult. That’s why we strive to make our car rental services as flexible for our customers as possible.
We offer plenty of options to alter your booking at almost every stage of your reservation. However, if you’re planning on renting with us, it’s always worth making sure that you fully understand all the terms and conditions. That way, you can always get the best out of your Hertz experience.
Did you know that you can save money by selecting specific car rental pick up and drop off dates and times and avoiding others? Let’s explore how our flexible car rental services can offer you more freedom and save you some extra cash.
If you need - or simply decide - to change your car rental pick up time to earlier or later than originally planned, no problem. So long as you contact us in advance to tell us about the change of plan, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
If you can be flexible on the specific time you wish to pick up your vehicle, it can really pay off.
If you’re running late, or something else has cropped up, you may need to change your car rental drop off time. If you contact us with as much notice as possible, we’ll make sure we’re able to help as best we can.
When it comes to your car rental drop off, you can keep the amount payable low by being strategic about the days and times you wish to return the vehicle to us. Of course, sometimes you’re going to be led by practicality, but if you have the flexibility to pick or change your drop off time, you can save a little extra cash.
It’s possible to change the time or day of your car rental drop off, so long as you talk to us about it in advance. But when the time does come to return your vehicle, it’s important to be on time. We understand that things happen (such as traffic), so we won’t charge you for any return that’s up to thirty minutes late.
Car rental drop offs that are more than 30 minutes however are liable to incur a small fee. Additionally, any return that’s more than 90 minutes late, will result in another full day’s rental being added to your bill.
When it comes to renting a car, there can be a bit of a logistical issue. An ironic one, at that. How do you get to the car rental pick up point if you haven’t got a car? If you can’t get a lift with someone and taxis are an issue, don’t fret. We can help.
Here at Hertz, we run a pick up and return service. We'll pick you up and take you to the rental site if you are renting a car from a Hertz Local Edition (HLE) facility. And the best part is, the service is completely free.
When you make your reservation online, all you need to do is request the car rental pick up and/or delivery service. Just make sure that the location you select is a Hertz Local Edition facility where the service is available.
If your plans change and you decide that you’d like to extend your car rental, it’s perfectly possible to do so (provided you give us notice and we have the availability). For flexible long-term car rental, communication is key.
Not picked up your vehicle yet? No problem, just head to this link, we’ll be glad to help. If, however, you’ve already got the keys, you’ll need to get in contact with the rental location. They will be able to disccuss changing the length of your rental. Provided the car isn’t due to be picked up by another customer, it shouldn’t be an issue. The extra time will, of course, be chargeable.
We encourage our customers to save money by being flexible with dates and times. We’re aware that plans can change, and they may need a degree of flexibility around pick ups, drop offs and the length of their rental. So, if you’re planning on renting with us, just make sure you familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions of your lease to avoid incurring any extra unnecessary fees.
At Hertz, we’re all about flexible car rental and helping you get the most out of the car you hire.
