Everything you need to know about 6 Hours of Fuji
6 Hours of Fuji is a thrilling endurance race held at the iconic Fuji Speedway – a cornerstone of the FIA WEC. As a key event in the WEC calendar, it challenges teams and drivers with a demanding six-hour format, testing their skills and stamina.
The event first held a 1000km race in 1967 and was added to the FIA WEC in 2012 as a 6-hour race. It’s home to the Toyota Gazoo team, who have had significant success at their home circuit.

Getting to Fuji Speedway
There are three main ways to get to the Fuji Speedway circuit:
By car rental
Renting a car offers the most flexibility for reaching Fuji Speedway and exploring the surrounding area. Hertz has convenient pickup and drop-off locations to meet your travel needs. Parking is available at the circuit, but arrive early to secure a spot, especially on race day.
By plane
The closest major airport to Fuji Speedway is Narita International Airport (NRT) in Tokyo. From Narita, you can rent a car and drive, or take a train to Gotemba Station, which is the closest station to the track. Alternatively, you can fly into Haneda Airport (HND) and then take a train or bus to Gotemba.
By train
Oyama, the town closest to Fuji Speedway, is easily accessible from Tokyo and other major cities. Take the JR Tokaido Shinkansen to Mishima Station, then transfer to the JR Gotemba Line to reach Oyama. From there, you can reach the track via car.
About Fuji Speedway
Fuji Speedway, nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji, boasts a rich history dating back to the 1960s. It hosted the Japanese Grand Prix in 2007 and 2008 in its return to the F1 calendar. The races saw electric wheel-to-wheel racing, dramatic weather conditions, and a historic rivalry between Ferrari and McLaren.
