It all started in 1978, when Hertz Rental Car signed an agreement with AAA, giving AAA members enhanced value anytime they rented a car from a Hertz airport location. Then, in 1993, Hertz became AAA’s exclusive rental car partner and, in 1998, off-airport, neighborhood Hertz car rental locations became part of the AAA program, giving members even more options.

Since then, the partnership has continued to grow and extend across multiple AAA products and services.
