What do I need to rent a car with Hertz?
To rent a car with Hertz, you will need a valid driver’s license held for at least one year. If you’re an international renter, you may also need an international driver’s permit. Hertz requires renters to be at least 20 years old in most locations, though drivers under 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. Certain state-specific exceptions may apply.
Can I rent a car with a debit card?
Yes, Hertz accepts debit cards for car rentals. However, most locations will perform a credit check to confirm sufficient funds are available to cover the estimated charges. An authorization hold, typically up to $500, may also apply depending on the rental location, duration, and date.
Can I modify, extend or cancel my reservation?
Yes, you can make amendments to your booking, including modifications, extensions and cancellations. Simply access your existing bookings via our reservation search tool to amend your booking. Please note that cancellation, no-show and lost rental charges may apply for prepaid rentals.
