  • Interstate 91 (I-91) starts in New Haven and travels north through Hartford and into Massachusetts and beyond towards the Canadian border.
  •  Connecticut Route 15 is an 84-mile highway stretch that connects Connecticut to New York state, where it joins the Hutchinson River Parkway near Yonkers.

 

How to Get From New Haven to New York City

It takes around two hours to drive the 80 miles from New Haven to New York City in your holiday car rental.

  1. Leave our New Haven car rental lot on George Street and head south on State Street.
  2. Get on to the I-95 South slip road and follow it south to New York City.
  3. Continue on the road to Manhattan.
  4. After 78 miles, keep right and follow signs for Triboro/George Washington Bridge.
  5. Keep left at the fork and continue on I-278 West.
  6. Take Exit 46 to arrive in Manhattan.

 

How to Get From New Haven to Boston

In your holiday rental car, it takes just over two hours to drive the 138 miles from New Haven to Boston.

  2. Take I-91 North from State Street North and follow this for 35 miles.
  3. At Hartford, join I-84 towards Boston – stay on this route for 41 miles.
  4. Use the right two lanes to enter I-90 East.
  5. Drive for 55 miles and enter the outskirts of Boston.
