  • Interstate 780 (I-780) leads from I-80 in South Vallejo and heads east to connect with I-680 near the Benicia-Martinez Bridge.
  • US Route 29 (US 29) enters the city from the south and travels through to Napa in the north.

 

How to Get From Vallejo to San Francisco

If you’re renting a car in Vallejo, it’ll take around 45 minutes to drive the 34 miles to San Francisco, depending on congestion levels:

  1. Leave the car rental parking lot at Redwood Street.
  2. Turn left on to Redwood Street.
  3. Turn right and merge on to I-80 West towards San Francisco.
  4. Use the right three lanes and continue on the I-580 East/I-80 West.
  5. Keep right to continue on I-80 West, follow signs for San Francisco (toll road).
  6. Keep right at the fork.
  7. Take Exit 1B and merge on to US 101 North/Central Fwy towards the Golden Gate Bridge.
  8. Arrive in San Francisco.
