Spinner knobs

Spinner knobs attached to a steering wheel can help you to turn with minimal effort. This addition may be helpful for renters that have difficulty using their hands to rotate a steering wheel.

Hand controls

Hand controls are fitted to help with acceleration and braking. At most US locations, hand controls can be added to your rental arrangement at no extra charge.

Adapted Vehicle Hire

Hertz has teamed up with Adapted Vehicle Hire, leading specialists in the mobility industry, to offer a wide range of adjustable car and wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Left Foot Accelerator and Single Lever Push hand controls are installed in all of our accessible vehicles.

Accessible vehicles can be booked easily through our Hertz Hypertrax System. This technology identifies five different accessibility categories and helps you tailor your rental to your specific requirements.

Clients with a hearing or speech impediment can contact the Hertz Worldwide Reservation Center via the Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD) on the toll-free number: 1-800-654-2280.

Clients with visual or physical disabilities can select a secondary driver who’ll be deemed an authorized operator of the accessible vehicle under the terms and conditions of the Hertz Rental Agreement.

Drivers selected must be 25 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license. Both the driver and physically impaired persons must present themselves at the Hertz counter when picking up the rental.
