In the J.D Power 2020 North America Rental Car Satisfaction Study, Hertz ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction, with a score of 852 out of 1,000. The study was based on responses from 7,364 business and leisure travelers who rented from an airport location, and marked Hertz's second consecutive year at the top.

In the J.D. Power 2019 North America Rental Car Satisfaction Study, Hertz ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction, scoring 856 out of 1,000. The study was based on responses from 9,382 business and leisure travelers who rented a vehicle at an airport location.

Hertz was named Best Leisure Car Rental by Global Traveler in 2019.
