Driving In and Around Toledo

  • Summit Street Parking Lot (43604) is in downtown Toledo, close to numerous restaurants and Fifth Third Field.
  • Toledo Zoo parking lot (43609) is near to Anthony Wayne Trail, Woodsdale Park and Toledo Sailing Club.
  • On-site parking at University of Toledo (43620) is for a great location if visiting the Toledo Museum of Art.
  • Interstate 75 (I-75) travels through the city from north to south, connecting to the I-280 and I-475. This road continues up into Michigan and down towards Florida.
  • Interstate 475 (I-475) loops around the west of the city, connecting to the I-75 in the north and south of Toledo.
  •  Interstate 90 (I-90) also known as the Ohio Turnpike, passes the airport and through the south of the city, continues west to Indiana and east to Massachusetts.

The Ohio Turnpike, which is situated in the south of Toledo, is a toll road. This road runs past the airport but can be avoided if you take SR 2 to get into the city.

How to Get From Toledo Express Airport to Maumee Bay State Park

It takes around 40-50 minutes to drive the 30 miles in your rental car from Toledo Express Airport to Maumee State Park:

  1. Leave the Toledo Express Airport car rental parking lot via Whitehouse Spencer Road.
  2. Turn right on to Airport Highway (SR 2) and then keep right to merge on to I-475 North.
  3. Follow the I-475 to the right past Wildwood Preserve MetroPark and then at Beatty Park take a left on to the I-75.
  4. Take Exit 208 to join the I-280 South and just after crossing the river, take Exit 9.
  5. Continue on to Front Street in your Toledo car rental and follow it to Millard Avenue.
  6. Turn left on to Otter Creek Road and then first right on to Cedar Point Road which will take you to the park.

 

How to Get From Toledo to Columbus

Columbus is just a two-and-a-half-hour drive away when you rent a car from Toledo. Just head south out of the city on the I-75 followed by the US 23 and this will take you all the way to the state capital.
