If you're coming into Chicago, you've actually got two options - and Midway is one of them. While it may not be as well known as its cousin across the city, Midway has its own charms - and it's pretty close to the parts of the city you're probably in town to visit. While you're waiting for your Chicago rental car, check out a few of the options below to see what you might want to spend your time on.
Midway offers a fine selection of places to shop if you are interested in doing so. From Chicago Treasures and Discover Chicago - ideal for souvenirs - to House of Blues and George's Music Room, there's likely to be something for everyone. There's even a Kids Works location if you're traveling with little ones in tow. Of course, there is a Hudson News store for those essentials and an Aeromart for whatever you may have forgotten to bring. Most of the shops are in the Midway Boulevard, which is just past security, so you won't have to wander all over to find the store you need.
There are tons of options for eating at Midway if you're hungry after a flight. Many of them are airport locations of local favorites like the Halsted St. Tap, Miller's Pub and Gold Coast Dogs. You'll also find some standards, like McDonalds and Potbelly Sandwich Works. If you only have time to stop in at one place, get over to Barista Express, which serves beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, coffee, tea and a variety of food. You can even pick up a meal for your kid and a few jumbo cookies to keep you going until you get to your Chicago rental car.
