East, it winds past Palm Springs towards Arizona. This road is known locally as the San Bernardino Freeway and nationally as the Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway.
  • Interstate 15 (I-15) is a north-south highway in Fontana. It passes close to Ontario International Airport and leads past Glen Helen Raceway and the Angeles National Forest to Nevada. South, this road winds to San Diego.
  • Foothill Freeway (Route 210) is Fontana’s major highway, connecting to local urban centers such as San Bernardino in the east and Rancho Cucamonga in the west. It merges into I-210, providing a 90-minute route to Santa Clarita local traffic.

 

How to Get From Fontana to Los Angeles

It takes around 50 minutes to drive the 50 miles from Fontana to Los Angeles in your rental car, depending on traffic conditions.

  1. Leave the car rental parking lot at Fontana’s HLE pick-up center, then turn right on to Sierra Avenue.
  2. At the lights, take another right to join the ramp on to I-10 (San Bernardino Freeway), heading west towards Los Angeles.
  3. Cross the Los Angeles River, merging into the Santa Ana Freeway (U-101) when I-10 ends.
  4. Take exit 2B, then turn left on to Los Angeles Street at the lights.
  5. Turn right on to West 1st Street to arrive at Los Angeles City Hall.

 

How to Get From Fontana to Riverside

Riverside is just a 20-minute drive from Fontana, California. Just take Sierra Avenue south, turn left to head east on I-10, then exit right on to Cedar Avenue. Keep left to use Market Street to cross the Santa Ana River towards Riverside. Renting a car makes it easier to get around Fontana.
