  • Alaska Route 7 (AL 7) is made up of four unconnected segments along the western edge of Alaska. AL 7 is known as Egan Drive between downtown Juneau and Juneau International Airport, then Glacier Highway beyond the airport.
  • Douglas Highway runs along the northern edge of Douglas Island, offering access to Eaglecrest Ski Resort.
  • Mendenhall Loop Road is a spur of the Glacier Highway which links Juneau to the Mendenhall Valley and Glacier.

 

How to Get From Juneau to Eaglecrest Ski Area

Eaglecrest Ski Area is just a 20 minute or so drive when you rent a car from Juneau:

  1. Head south-west on West 10th Street across the Juneau-Douglas Bridge.
  2. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit on to 3rd Street and the North Douglas Highway.
  3. Follow the Douglas Highway for six miles, then turn left on to Eaglecrest Road.
  4. Continue for five miles in your Juneau car rental until you arrive at the ski area.

 

How to Get From Juneau International Airport to Downtown

It takes around 20 minutes to drive from the local airport to downtown Juneau when you rent a car. Leaving the Hertz car rental parking lot at Juneau Airport and head east on Shell Simmons Drive and turn right on to Yandukin Drive. Take a slight right on to Egan Drive and continue for just over six miles until you reach Downtown.
