A Quick Guide to Tenerife

Mount Tiede

Mount Tiede National Park, TF-21, 38414 Los Realejos, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Lace up your hiking boots and head up to the Mount Tiede National Park to look at Tenerife’s very own volcano. There is a visitors center at the bottom, and you can get a cable car to the summit. A bucket list-style day out that should be tried at least once. You can get here in just over an hour from our Tenerife car rental lot.

Siam Park

A slice of Thai life in Tenerife, this water park is modeled on various parts of Thai and Siam culture. There are various slides for those who want an adrenalin rush, smaller more child-friendly slides and splash pads for those with smaller children. Try out the lazy rivers, shallow pools and makeshift beach.

Loro Park

This zoo is located on the edge of Puerto de la Cruz. It houses hundreds of different birds and a variety of animals including some big cats, reptiles and fish. As well as the zoo, there is an aquarium housing sharks and piranhas and is well worth a look.

Driving In and Around Tenerife

  • Hotel Palm Beach Tenerife (38660) has 85 spaces and is close to Playa de Troya.
  • Intercambiador La Laguna (38206) is close to Polideportivo Central with 206 spaces.
  • Calle Subida Cuesta Piedra (38008) has 57 spaces and is close to Plaza Corpus Christi.
  • TF-1 runs from Santa Cruz most of the way round the island to Santiago de Tiede and is 64 miles long in total. It is the longest road on the island, and one you may drive on if you ride a rental car in Tenerife.
  • TF-5 Is the motorway to the north of Tenerife that runs from Santa Cruz to Puerto de la Cruz and is just 24.5 miles long.

How to Get From Tenerife to Real Club Nautic de Tenerife

It takes 19 minutes to drive the 9.4 miles by rental car in Tenerife to travel from Los Rodeos Airport to Club Nautic de Tenerife by rental car.

  1. Upon leaving the airport get onto the T-5 to La Laguna/Santa Cruz for 5.6 miles. Move to the second lane from the left and continue onto Calle la Salle/Calle Puerto/Avenida Maritima/Tres de Mayo/TF-5.
  2. Stay right and continue on this road, then use the right lanes to take a slight right onto Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas.
  3. This will turn left to become Avenida la Constitucion before coming to a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit onto Avenida Maritima and then continue to Tunel Plaza de Espana.
  4. This road turns right slightly and becomes Avenida Francisco La Roche. The nautical club will be on your right.

 

How to Get From Tenerife to Campo de Golf – Golf del Sur

Reina Sofia Airport is just a 7-minute drive to Campo de Golf. From the airport follow the TF-1 towards San Miguel/Los Christianos/Costa Aneje. After 1.8 miles take exit 62 heading towards Los Abrigos/Las Galletas. Take the 1st exit off the roundabout to TF-65 and then take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout to stay on the TF-65.

Bear slightly right towards Avenida El Guincho. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Avenida El Guincho and then take the 2nd exit again at the next roundabout. Take a left turn, keep right and make a final left turn into the golf club car park.
