Driving In and Around Santander

  • Parking Playa Camello (39005) is close to The Magdalena Marine Zoo, Antigua Caseta de los Practicos and the Wharf of the Caravels.
  • Matalenas Park Parking Lot (39012) is near to the Cabo Mayor lighthouse, Tirolinas Go Santander Forest Park and the Matalenas Park.  
  • Aparcamiento Publico Calle Alta (39008) is close to the Locomotive Museum, the Café de las Artes Theater, and the Cervezas Plaza.

 

  • N-623 starts in the center of Santander and travels north to Burgos.
  • A67 connects Santander with Palencia, Frómista and Reinose in the north and merges with the A62. Renting a car in Santander makes it easier to traverse the wider areas.
  • N-611 connects Santander to Torrelavega in the west, passing the hospital in Santander and the hospital in Mompía.

 

How to Get From Santander to Bilbao

It takes one hour 10 minutes to drive the 61 miles from Santander to Bilbao with your rental car.

  1. From the center of Santander, head southwest on Calle Camilo Alonso Vega and Calle Jeronimo Sainz de la Maza.
  2. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit to stay on Calle Jeronimo Sainz de la Maza.
  3. At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto the A-67 and stay left to merge onto Avenida Paraysas / S-10.
  4. Continue onto A-8 and use the right two lanes to take exit 118 towards Bilbao.
  5. Continue onto Juan Antonio Zunzunegui Etorb and use the left lanes to take Sabino Arana Etorbidea.
  6. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Don Diego Lopez Haroko Kale Nagusia and arrive in Bilbao.

 

How to Get From Santander to Parque de la Viesca

Santander is just a 25-minute drive with your rental car from Parque De La Viesca in Torrelavega. Just follow Bajada de San Juan and Avenida De la Constitucion to S-20. Take the S-20 and then the A-67, before taking exit 232 from E-70/A-8. Take Avendia Oviedo/N-634 and Barrio el’ Milagro to the parking lot.
