  • US Route 30 (US 30) connects Atlantic City to Atlantic City International Airport and Philadelphia.
  • US Route 9 (US 9) runs along the eastern coast, cutting through Atlantic City. Follow it north in your car rental to reach Newark and New York City, or south to Cape May. 
  • US Route 40 (US 40) is a major east-west highway which starts in Atlantic City. It then crosses state lines into Delaware and Maryland towards Baltimore.

 

How to Get From Atlantic City to New York

The bright lights of NYC are about two hours, or 126 miles, from Atlantic City. Just head on the Atlantic City Expressway in your rental car to join the Garden State Parkway and US 9 North towards Woodbridge Township. Then, merge onto the I-95 North and I-78 East into Manhattan.

 

How to Get From Atlantic City to Philadelphia

Philadelphia is just an hour’s drive, or 62 miles, from Atlantic City. Head west along the Atlantic City Expressway in your rental car as it becomes the I-76 and I-676 North across Delaware River and into Pennsylvania. Once here, you can explore the rich history before enjoying an iconic Philly cheesesteak.
