  • Interstate 495 (I-495) is also known as the Capital Beltway and travels to the south of Rockville. It forms a 64-mile loop around Washington D.C, connecting the city with neighboring Virginia.
  • Maryland Route 200 (MD-200) is the main route heading out of Rockville that allows access to I-95, which can be followed northeast to Baltimore.

 

How to Get From Rockville to Washington D.C.

It takes around 30 minutes to drive the 13 miles from Rockville to Washington D.C with your rental car.

  1. Leave the Hertz car rental lot and head south on Rockville Pike.
  2. Take I-495 (Capital Beltway) to Baltimore/Silver Spring.
  3. Take Exit 33 and merge onto MD-185.
  4. Continue on this route for about 20 minutes.
  5. At the roundabout, take Connecticut Avenue for three miles to arrive.

 

How to Get From Rockville to Baltimore

The state’s largest city, Baltimore, is little over a 45-minute drive from Rockville.

  1. Hop in your car rental, exit the Hertz lot and head south on Rockville Pike.
  2. Take I-495 to Baltimore/Silver Spring.
  3. Use Exit 27 and follow I-95 north for around 21 miles to reach Baltimore.
