A symbol of independence and freedom nearly 300 years old, the 2,080-pound bell was once mounted in Independence Hall and was used to mark the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence and other important events. There are exhibits and a film to help explain its role in American history. Grab a photo in front of it and wander around the Liberty Bell Center. It is free to go and see but it is a popular attraction, so expect some waiting time.

The structure itself is a landmark but inside it is housed works from around the world, including from medieval times.
