Hertz aims to bring up to 1,700 additional rental EVs to New York City for availability to leisure and business customers.

Hertz is sharing its “Hertz Charging Opportunity Index” with New York City to help inform city planning for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Additionally, Hertz is working with BP to launch BP pulse fast charging hubs in New York City, that will feature ultra-fast chargers of 150kW+ designed to serve Hertz customers, taxi and ride-share drivers, and the public.
Hertz is donating five electric vehicles and building long-term partnerships with four New York City schools A-Tech High School (Brooklyn), Thomas Edison Career and Technical Education High School (Queens), Alfred E. Smith Career and Technical Education High School (Bronx), and Ralph R. McKee Career and Technical Education High School (Staten Island), to ensure the future workforce will develop the skills they need to service the next generation of vehicles. Hertz will provide EV operations training and materials for instructors, host students to observe job and career pathways at local Hertz locations and facilitate access funding for EV certification.

Hertz Electrifies will expand economic opportunity by adding 100 jobs in New York City, including full-time positions and summer job opportunities for New York City youth. Additionally, through Mayor Adams’ Green Rides Initiative, Hertz looks forward to expanding its national rideshare partnership programs in New York City.
