Driving In and Around Cody

  • Buffalo Bill Center of the West car park (82414) is close to all five Cody museums, including the Buffalo Bill Museum.
  • Stampede Park car park (82414) is the best place to park your rental car for the Cody Nite Rodeo and the Cody Stampede Rodeo.
  • Sheridan Avenue on-street parking (82414) gives easy access to some of the best restaurants in the city.
  • The US 14 / US 16 / US 20 travels through the center of the city and continues to the South Dakota border in the east and to Yellowstone National Park in the west – perfect for a scenic road trip in your Cody rental car.
  • US Route 14 ALT (US 14 ALT) is an alternate US 14 that heads northeast out of the city and continues just past Bighorn National Forest.
  • Wyoming Highway 120 (WYO 120) connects to the US 14 ALT in the north and the US 14 / US 16 / US 20 in the south, continuing up to the Montana border and down into central Wyoming.

How to Get From Yellowstone Regional Airport to Buffalo Bill Dam

It takes around 20 minutes to drive the 10 miles from Yellowstone Regional Airport to Buffalo Bill Dam and Visitor Center in your Cody rental car:

  1. Leave Cody’s Yellowstone Regional Airport car rental lot via Roger Sedam Drive.
  2. Turn right to join US 14 / US 16 / US 20 at Greybull Highway and keep following.
  3. Take a left onto Alger Avenue and continue to Cody Avenue.
  4. Turn left on 8th Street (back onto US 14 / US 16 / US 20) and stay on this road heading west. It’ll become North Fork Highway, part of the Buffalo Bill Scenic Byway.
  5. Turn left just before Buffalo Bill Reservoir and you’ll arrive at the Dam.

 

How to Get From Yellowstone Regional Airport to Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is around a one-hour drive from the Cody car rental lot. Take US 14 / US 16 / US 20 heading west and it’ll take you towards the east entrance of the park, which is closest to Cody.
