  •  Rogue Valley Expressway is a bypass that connects Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport to Downtown. It intersects with Crater Lake Highway to the north and south.
  • Crater Lake Highway (OR-62) heads north from Medford to Crater Lake National Park. It also connects with US-97 near Upper Klamath Lake.
  • Interstate 5 (I-5) is Medford’s major freeway. It leads south to Ashland and Sacramento. North, this road meanders between southern Oregon cities such as Grants Pass and Roseburg, before heading to Eugene, Portland and Seattle.

How to Get From Medford to Crater Lake

It takes one hour and 45 minutes to drive the 79 miles from Medford to Crater Lake when you rent a car from our Medford Crater Lake HLE pick-up center.

  1. Leave the Hertz rental lot to join Fisher Avenue.
  2. Turn right onto Biddle Road, then again onto Lawnsdale Road and Bullock Road.
  3. Take a left on to Crater Lake Highway (OR-62 E).
  4. Follow this road for 78 miles into Crater Lake National Park.
  5. Exit left on to Munson Valley Road.
  6. Continue along Rim Drive to arrive at the Rim Village Visitor Center.

 

How to Get From Medford to Oregon Coast Highway

The Oregon Coast Highway – a road tripper’s favorite – is a three-hour drive when you rent a car from Medford. Just take I-5 north, then take Exit 136 near Roseburg to make the journey west.
