  • Interstate 75 (I-75) runs to the west of The Villages and can be reached from the city via FL-44. This major highway connects with Tampa south and Gainesville north.

 

How to get from The Villages to Orlando

It takes less than 90 minutes to drive the 58 miles from The Villages to Orlando in your holiday car rental.

  1. Leave the city center via East County Road 466.
  2. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto US-301 South.
  3. Turn left to merge onto Florida’s Turnpike toll road.
  4. Stay on this route for 45 miles, then use Exit 259 for I-4.
  5. Use the left two lanes to continue onto I-4 East.
  6. Take Exit 83 to enter South Street and continue until you reach Downtown.

 

How to get from The Villages to Gainesville

Gainesville, found in Alachua County, is just over an hour’s drive north of The Villages in your holiday car rental.

  1. Exit the city center on East County Road 466.
  2. Continue onto County Road 466 West and South Highway 475 North.
  3. Turn left onto Southeast 145 Street, then right onto Southwest 16 Avenue.
  4. Take a left onto Southwest Highway 484.
  5. Use the right lane to merge onto I-75 North to Ocala.
  6. Stay on this route for around 34 miles.
  7. Turn right onto FL-331 North, then take a left onto South Main Street, which leads into Gainesville.
