Driving In and Around Key West

  • Tourist Parking (33040) is situated in Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park close to the beach and the iconic Fort Zachary Taylor fortress.
  • Duval Street Parking (33040) is open 24/7 and is near the northern end of Duval Street, Mallory Square and Key West Aquarium. Park your rental car here to see some of Key West’s best family attractions.
  • Parking – Fort Street (33040) gives easy access to Key West Lighthouse, the southern end of Duval Street and Southernmost Point Buoy.
  • US Route 1 (US1) stretches for 113 miles and is also known as the Overseas Highway, connecting the length of the Florida Keys to Florida City on the mainland.
  • State Road A1A (SR-A1A) connects to the US1 as it arrives in Key West and circles the east of the city.
  •  Duval Street is the most famous road in Key West. It’s just over a mile long and travels from the Gulf of Mexico in the northern end of the city to the Atlantic Ocean in the south.

How to get from Key West International Airport to Mallory Square 

It takes around 15 minutes to drive from Key West International Airport to Mallory Square in your rental car.

  1. Leave the car rental parking lot at Key West International Airport on Faraldo Cir.
  2. Turn right on to S Roosevelt Boulevard (A1A) and continue to Bertha Street.
  3. At the end of the road, turn left to join Flagler Street and then it’s first right to First Street.
  4. Continue to Palm Avenue Causeway, followed by Eaton Street.
  5. Take a right on to Simonton Street and then left to join Front Street.
  6. Join Duval Street and take a sharp left to Wall Street to reach Mallory Square.

How to get from Key West to Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park is just under a three-hour drive from Key West with car rental. Just follow the Overseas Highway along the length of the Keys and head southwest from Florida City when you reach the mainland.
