  • California State Route 67 (CA-67) starts in Santee and cuts through Poway and into South California’s sprawling countryside.
  • California State Route 56 (CA-56) connects I-15 to I-5, traveling towards the coast. Head south from I-5 into San Diego or north to the beach city of Encinitas.

 

How to Get From Poway by Rental Car to Torrey Pines State Reserve

It takes 30 minutes to drive the 16 miles from Poway by rental car to Torrey Pines State Reserve.
 

  1. Leave the Hertz Poway car rental parking lot and turn left onto Poway Road.
  2. Continue straight to join Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard.
  3. After a mile, turn left to merge onto CA-56 W.
  4. Stay on this road for eight miles, then take Exit 1B for El Camino Real and I-5 N.
  5. Join Carmel Valley Road, then make a left at the traffic lights to reach the state park.
     

How to Get From Poway to San Diego

San Diego is just a 30-minute drive south from our Poway car rental office. Just head out of the city via Poway Road to join I15 S. Then merge onto CA-163 S and follow into the hub of San Diego, using Exit 1B to take 4th Avenue to arrive.
