  • Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1 or SR-1) is part of California State Route 1 and passes through Long Beach. It also connects the city to Long Beach Airport.

How to Get From Long Beach Airport to Downtown

It takes around 15 minutes to drive the six miles from Long Beach Airport to Downtown Long Beach in your rental car.

  1. Leave the Hertz Long Beach car rental lot via Donald Douglas Drive.
  2. Turn right onto North Lakewood Boulevard and continue for just under two miles.
  3. Use the right-hand lane to take a slight right onto the Pacific Coast Highway.
  4. After two miles, turn left onto Orange Avenue and continue onto Alamitos Avenue.
  5. At East 3rd Street, take a right into Downtown Long Beach.

 

How to Get From Long Beach to Los Angeles

Los Angeles is little over a 30-minute drive from Long Beach in your rental car. Follow I-710 N for 16 miles, before merging onto I-5 N. Keep left and continue along US-101, before taking Exit 1B and turning left onto East 1st Street to reach central LA.
