There are plenty of places to park your rental car in Dubai, including free and paid spots.

·       RTA parking zones – paid parking across the city. Look for the RTA signs – you can purchase an RTA parking card or NOL card to pay, or you can send an SMS to the designated number on the parking meter.

·       Free on-street parking – many residential areas have free on-street parking.

·       Shopping malls – many of Dubai’s shopping malls offer paid parking for your car rental. Dubai Mall offers up to six hours of free parking for a limited time, which can be up to six hours on weekends.


The main roads in and around Dubai are:

·       Sheikh Zayed Road / E11 – the main road running through the city

·       Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road / E311 – a major bypass for inter-emirate travel

·       Dubai-Al Ain Road / E66 – connecting Dubai to Al Ain


It’s around a 10-minute drive from Dubai International Airport to the city center in your rental car. All you need to do is:

·       Take Airport Road / D89 to leave the airport

·       Follow D89, keeping left

·       Merge onto 27th Street

·       Turn right onto 8th Street to reach the city center
