Hertz Car Rental At Jerez Airport Car Rental (XRY)

Located in southern Spain in the heart of Andalusia, and only a short distance from the coast, car rental at Jerez Airport opens up a feast of possibilities.

Enjoy flamenco dancing, delicious local tapas and seafood, as well as a wealth of historical sites in the stunning town of Jerez de la Frontera – before heading further afield to take in all that this remarkable Spanish region has to offer.

The Hertz Jerez Airport car rental desk is located in the heart of the terminal building, so we’ll be on hand to help as soon as you land. Browse our extensive range of vehicles, choose the ideal one for your trip, and reserve direct online in advance. You’ll be enjoying the wonders of southern Spain in no time at all.

Driving In And Around Jerez

Jerez de La Frontera is a traditional city with cathedrals, narrow cobbled walkways and fascinating things to do.

In your car rental, Jerez Airport is only around a 20-minute drive away, via the A-4 freeway south and then on the N-4 towards the center.

You’ll find plenty of parking for your holiday car rental from Jerez Airport in the southwest area of the city and near major landmarks, such as along Calle Rafael Alberti road. There are also several traffic lights and circular intersections along the main roads in and out of the city.

When driving around the city in your holiday rental car from Jerez Airport, you may find that the historic center itself is restricted. So, if you want to see the sights it’s best to leave your car in one of the nearby parking lots and continue on foot.

For a day trip to remember, take your rental car from Jerez Airport to Andalusia’s famous capital of Seville. Just over an hour’s drive north, its Roman, Moorish and Renaissance skyline will enthrall, and there are many iconic sights to explore, including the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and the UNESCO 10th-century palace, the Real Alcazar.

Spend time strolling around the iconic Plaza deEspana, enjoy a boat ride around the loop of the canal and admire the romantic Renaissance buildings. It’s the ideal relaxing setting.

Speed limits in Spain are displayed in kilometers per hour (km/h). These vary, and it’s always a good idea to check the signs in case of any changes. On major highways known as Autopista, these are typically 120km/h (74mph), on Autovia dual carriageways they are often 100km/h (62mph), and many other out of town roads tend to be 90km/h (55mph). In towns and cities, the maximum is usually 50km/h (30mph), unless otherwise signed.

A Quick Guide To Jerez

When you get a rental car from Jerez Airport, you can explore the picturesque Andalusian countryside, coast, and traditional Spanish towns.

With famous international exports, a heritage of flamenco dancing and even spectacular horse shows, there’s so much to discover in the area.

Experience Equestrian Ballet In Jerez De La Frontera

Jerez de La Frontera is famous for two main things: its international export of sherry, and its magnificent horses.

In the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, you can experience one of the city’s greatest passions. Within the expansive museum, learn about this celebrated horse heritage, through animated exhibits and historic artifacts, admiring the decorative carriages and uniforms along the way.

At the end of your visit, settle in for a spectacular show – How the Andalusian Horses Dance. With 18th-century costumes, choreography that's inspired by Classical Dressage and traditional Spanish music, this show is perfected to the highest degree.

Discover Remarkable History

To experience life as a local, visit the longstanding Mercado de Abastos, a bustling farmers market in the center with parking for your holiday rental car from Jerez Airport just a block away. Inside a striking 19th-century building, enjoy the lively atmosphere of the many food stalls selling everything from fresh fish caught a few miles from the city to locally produced vegetables.

Then take a step even further into the past with the gothic-baroque Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral. Work first began in 1695, and with its impressive exterior arches, a domed ceiling and a majestic front entrance, this feels quite unlike any other. Inside you’re greeted by dramatic stripped-stone Corinthian columns with large figures of the apostles.

Another site that’s not to be missed is the Moorish Alcazar de Jerez castle and floral Islamic gardens. Built in the 11th and 12th century, this well-preserved monument gives a detailed look into the Almohad era. Explore the octagonal tower, the chapel and the Arabic baths with star ceiling carvings.

Take A Spectacular Day Trip

Jerez Airport’s fantastic location means that the rest of Andalucia can be easily explored, especially with a car rental. The coast is only half an hour’s drive away, and with Roman heritage, more than 100 watchtowers and a glistening coast to explore, Cadiz is a great place to visit.

This historic port is made up of a maze of white stone buildings. Explore the traditional Old Town and walk up the iconic watchtower, Torre Tavira.

Built in the 1700s, climb to the top for stunning views over the cityscape. There’s an 18th-century cathedral here too, that took 116 years to build. Similar to the cathedral in Jerez, it has a domed roof but adopts a more neoclassical design.

There’s so much to see and do, and when you get a rental car at Jerez Airport, you can explore it all.
