A valid driver's licence from your country of residence is required.  An international driver's licence is also suggested, but not mandatory.

Driver's licences issued by the People's Republic of China may be accepted provided you present an official Hertz Certification form. Hertz China will issue this form on Hertz notepaper and will incorporate the Hertz China Corporate seal. A scanned copy of the original licence will appear on the Certification form. The Certification form is valid until the expiry date of the Driver's Licence. BOTH the Certification and the original licence MUST be produced at the time of rental.

If you hold a Driver's Licence issued in Vietnam, you need to present the original licence together with an authorised translation issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport. If both documents are presented at time of rental these licences are acceptable worldwide.

Hertz offers the below protection plans:

Basic Protection Plan: this is not an insurance but a waiver. If accepted, this plan reduces your financial liability for damage to the Hertz vehicle to a deductible of USD 1,000.00 (or 20% of the cost of the damage). The additional cost is USD 27.00 per day for all vehicle groups.

Plus Protection Plan: this is not an insurance but a waiver. If accepted, this plan reduces your financial liability for damage to the Hertz vehicle to a deductible of up to USD 100.00 per incident. The additional cost is USD 39.00 per day for all vehicle groups.

Premium Protection Plan: this is not an insurance but a waiver. If accepted, this plan waives your financial liability for damage to the Hertz vehicle. The additional cost is USD 55.00 per day for all vehicle groups.

If any of the above plans are declined, you will be responsible for any damage to the Hertz vehicle during the rental.

A one-way rental is a rental which starts at one location and terminates at another. Availability is subject to location restrictions and vehicle type. A fee may apply for this service and will be advised at time of reservation.

Hertz has three refueling options available to meet your needs:

• You may purchase a tank of gas from Hertz at time of rental and return the vehicle with as little gas as you prefer.  Please be aware that we are unable to issue a refund for unused fuel.  However, this method eliminates the need for you to refuel the tank prior to returning.

• You can let us refuel for you and only pay for the fuel required to replace the fuel you used, and for the service and convenience of refueling the tank.

• You can stop and refuel the tank yourself, immediately prior to returning the vehicle.
