The main roads in Okinawa include:

  • Okinawa Expressway Primary highway system on the island, connecting Naha in the south to Nago in the north (toll road).
  • National Route 58 – National highway that parallels the west coast of the island.
  • Naha Airport Expressway Connects Naha Airport directly to the Okinawa Expressway (toll road).

Traveling from Naha Airport to Naha’s city center (Okinawa’s capital) should take roughly 10 to 15 minutes (5km), depending on traffic and the route you take. Here is the fastest route.

  1. Follow Okinawa West Coast Road/Naha West Road/National Route 58 to Wakasa Nakadori 28
  2. Continue on Wakasa Nakadori. This will take you into the city’s center
