Toowoomba Airport

Rent a car from Toowoomba Airport

From the moment you land at Toowoomba Airport, you’ll be both amazed and impressed by this beautiful town. It’s the largest regional inland town in Queensland, and at just a two-hour drive from Brisbane, it’s also easily accessible by road.

There are plenty of tourist attractions in and around Toowoomba. Known as the ‘City of Gardens’, you can expect to spend a lot of your time driving from one floral haven to another. If you’re not smelling the roses, then you’ll be admiring the street art that adorns the walls of the town, before driving off somewhere new and exciting for the afternoon.

However you decide to spend your time in Toowoomba, let us help you make the most of it. Simply head to Hertz Toowoomba Airport as soon as you land to speak to one of our friendly team members and pick up your rental car. Head on a Roadtrip with Hertz

There are plenty of road trips to do from Toowoomba.

Our top tip would be to head into the city of Brisbane. Known for its fun and frivolities, Brisbane is also called ‘Brisvegas’ (and for good reason). There are plenty of things to do and see while in the capital of Queensland, so if a city break takes your fancy, then be sure to drive the two-hour-long journey into the city.

If you’ve got a designated driver in tow, why not vineyard hop on the Granite Belt? There are plenty of vineyards to admire and enjoy, like Summit Estate Wines, Mason Wines, and Pyramids Road Wines to just name a few. Obviously, please enjoy these vineyards safely, and always have a specified driver to take you from place to place. Perhaps after a morning of tasting the produce in the area, you could head to Girraween National Park to enjoy a picnic with all your new goodies. The area isn’t just known for wineries, but for other products like cheese and apple pie, for example, so you’ll have plenty to enjoy while admiring the views.

If natural beauty is definitely your preference, then The Falls Drive would be the perfect option. It’s an easy day trip from Toowoomba and gives a great reward for little effort. Cruise along in your rental car and see waterfalls like Browns Falls, Daggs Falls, and Queen Mary Falls. The latter is the most famous stop on the road trip, so make sure to plan your day around visiting this special location.

Enjoy Toowoomba in your Rental Car

Some days are made for enjoying the town you’re in, and there is no better place to do this than in Toowoomba. From the many gardens that are throughout the town to the street art adorned walls, and the historic buildings that line the roads, you’ll be making plenty of stops when doing even the smallest of drives across town.

Make sure to visit some of the gardens that Toowoomba is famous for while you are in town. There are some beautiful ones here, namely the Queensland State Rose Garden, the Queen’s Park and Botanic Garden, and the Toowoomba Japanese Garden. Spend a few hours in any one of these lush spaces to relax and unwind - it’ll be a welcome break from a busy holiday.

Toowoomba is a special place that is enjoyed by all who live and visit here. From the moment you land at Toowoomba Airport, make sure to relax, enjoy, and have fun. We can’t wait to welcome you here soon at Hertz Toowoomba Airport.

Fuel & Electrical Recharging Policy

Fuel is not included in your rental rate. Your vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel or if the tank is not full, we will provide you with credit for the missing fuel and you can decide how you wish to pay for the fuel you use during your rental. You have the following options:

Buy a full tank at the start …

  • Often referred to as our Fuel Purchase Option (FPO).
  • If you purchase a full tank of fuel from us at the start of your rental, you will not need to refill the tank before returning and will have nothing more to pay for fuel.
  • This is a good option for high kilometre journeys where you are likely to use a full tank.

Buy a half tank at the start….

  • It may be more convenient to pay for a half tank of fuel at the start of the rental and save time on refuelling by returning the vehicle with only a half a tank of fuel.
  • This is a good option for low kilometre journeys where you are more likely to use less fuel.
  •

FUEL PURCHASE OPTION (FPO)

We charge you at the start of your rental for a full tank of fuel at a price competitive with local fuel stations. You will have nothing more to pay to us for your fuel. Please note that we do not provide a refund for unused fuel.

HALF TANK OPTION

We charge you at the start of your rental for a half tank of fuel at a competitive price with local fuel stations and return with only half a tank of fuel. Please note that we do not provide a refund for unused fuel.

Return with a full tank …

  • Return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel purchased from a local fuel station.
  • This is a good option for low kilometre journeys.

IMPORTANT: Fuel gauges may still indicate that the tank is “full” many kilometres after it was last re-filled. To deal with this, we ask you to refill the tank within 15 km of the return location and bring your fuel receipt with you when returning the Vehicle. We ask you to present a copy of the fuel receipt to a Hertz employee or leave a copy in the Vehicle. If you do not do so, we reserve the right to apply a small charge – please ask at the counter for details.

…..or without refuelling

  • A good option if you are in a hurry, did not take FPO or a Half Tank of fuel and do not have time to refill the tank on return.

REFUELLING SERVICE CHARGE: We will charge you a price per litre to refill the tank. These prices are indicated on your Rental Agreement.

EV Battery Recharging Service Fee

You are liable for any reduction in battery charge percentage from when you picked up your EV to when you returned it (no refund will be provided if this figure is higher, upon return). If we are required to recharge the EV to return it to its battery departure level, we will charge you a price per kilo watt (kW), as detailed on your Rental Agreement.

EV Low Battery Recharging Service Fee

If you return the vehicle at 15% battery charge level or less, we will charge an additional recharging service fee, as detailed on your Rental Agreement.
