Las Vegas, NV | One Charge Challenge with Hertz

Las Vegas is known for its casinos, all-night partying and flashy attractions. To help me get around this one-of-a-kind city for my One Charge Challenge, Hertz hooked me up with the fantastic Polestar 2.

Traveling from location to location was a breeze thanks to the smooth, comfortable drive and the array of built-in technology on offer inside.

So, where did we explore in Las Vegas? Allow me to unveil a few hidden gems beyond the bustling strip that capture the vibrant essence of this desert city.

Location One: Breakfast at Egg & I

They say you are what you eat and if that’s the case, I would proudly be an egg.

For me, breakfast is the ultimate meal of the day, and let me tell you, The Egg and I in Las Vegas is my go-to spot to satisfy my breakfast cravings. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and treated like a beloved member of the family.

With a menu filled with delectable options, it’s impossible to make a wrong choice. The portions are incredibly generous too, so it’s best to plan a visit with an empty stomach. Personally, I couldn’t resist their stuffed French toast and Chile relleno omelet. Just the thought of it makes my mouth water.

Location Two: Vegas Indoor Skydiving

They say that there’s nothing you can’t do in Las Vegas, so why not transform your dreams of flying into a reality – but indoors? After going through some safety lessons at Vegas Indoor Skydiving, your guide will make sure you’re in good hands all the way through. The experience of flight in a safe environment was very surreal.

Hovering over a powerful jet engine, it was tricky at first to relax but after a while, I became one with the wind. It was a feeling you need to check off your bucket list without a doubt. Talk about an adrenaline pump!

Location Three: A little catharsis at Wreck Room

Prepare to be pleasantly surprised as you enter the Wreck Room – this is a therapy haven like no other. Fully equipped with safety gear from head to toe, I readied myself with a bat, eager to unleash my frustrations and stress.

Within its walls, a vast array of destructible treasures awaited – VHS tapes, old computers, glass bottles – enticing me to dive headfirst into a cathartic frenzy. The freedom to stack items according to my whims and send them soaring into the air for a personalized home run added a delightful touch of creativity. One valuable tip I wish I had known beforehand: relax your wrist during swings, for some objects are more solid than meets the eye… I highly recommend you all go on this liberating experience.

Valley of Fire State Park

Stepping into the Valley of Fire in Nevada, I was blown away by the jaw-dropping sights that greeted me. With many stops for a picture-perfect moment, the vibrant red sandstone formations seemed to come alive under the sun, painting a mesmerizing canvas of colors.

As I trekked along the rugged trails, I couldn't help but feel an intimate bond with Mother Nature's magnificence. Each step I took unveiled a fresh wave of awe and wonder, reminding me of the incredible power and beauty that surrounds us.

La Neta Cocina

La Neta Cocina is located in downtown Summerlin, an area that has a really laid-back vibe. You can stroll around, enjoy some shopping, grab a bite to eat, and just soak in the relaxed atmosphere. The dishes at La Neta were a flavor explosion and from the first bite, my taste buds were doing a happy dance.

The vibrant and lively atmosphere matched the culinary delight bursting from every dish. The tacos were next-level delicious, and the guacamole – don't even get me started. It was pure avocado perfection. Anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine with a Las Vegas twist should make this a priority stop.

Las Vegas sign

Alright, so I finally made it to the iconic Las Vegas sign, and boy, was it a sight to behold. Most people forget you can actually stop by here. It's like stepping into a postcard with that flashy neon glow and all the energy surrounding it. People were snapping selfies left and right. As the entrance and exit to the city, the Las Vegas sign is a site you need to witness at least once in your life if you come to this iconic city.
