FAQs

As soon as your rental car is ready, we will send you a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alert by either email, SMS or both, depending on your profile selection. The message will include the rental car we have selected for you and the plate number.

At U.S. and Canada airports with Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Boards, the stall number the rental car is parked in will be posted, so you can go straight to your rental car and get on your way. At Ultimate Choice locations, you’ll be able to choose from a vehicle in the Gold section of the parking lot. At other Hertz locations, you need to pick up the keys and contract from a Hertz representative.


If you are late or we need to change your rental car, we will send you a message to let you know. Just come straight to the Gold Counter when you arrive and we will get you on your way.


Just call the phone number in the message or click the link to Hertz to cancel the rental car reservation. We appreciate you letting us know.

Just check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Board on arrival or step over to the Gold Counter. Also check that the email address and mobile phone number in your profile are up to date. For SMS Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Gold Alerts, you will need to respond to the Opt in Message (see details below) before you can start receiving them.


Usage

Hertz Mobile Alerts uses SMS messaging distributed via third-party mobile network providers to provide you important information about your current, upcoming, or past rentals. By providing your phone number to Hertz, you confirm that the number belongs to you and agree to receive messages relating to your rental from The Hertz Corporation, and its specific rental business affiliates and subsidiaries (including Dollar and Thrifty brands and associate entities) (collectively, “Hertz”) to the phone number provided. If you opt in to receive messages for marketing and promotional purposes, you consent to such messages also being sent with automated technologies, at Hertz’s sole discretion, including an automatic telephone dialing system or an automated system for the selection or dialing of telephone numbers. Further, if you opt in to receive automated messages for marketing and promotional purposes, we may send you such messages even if your phone number is listed on any federal or state do-not-call registry. Consent to receive marketing and promotional messages is not required to buy goods and/or services. The frequency of messages will vary based on your rental selections and participation.

 

Opt-out

You may opt-out of receiving SMS marketing and promotional messages by responding “STOP” in response to any marketing or promotional message received by Hertz to your mobile device. If you are a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, you may also opt-out by visiting your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile at Hertz.com, unchecking the Mobile Alerts SMS option, and then saving your settings. A confirmation opt-out SMS will be sent. Once opted out, you will no longer receive marketing or promotional SMS messages from Hertz unless you opt in again.

At any time, you can request help by texting the word “HELP” in response to any Hertz Mobile Alert SMS from your mobile device or you can call 1-800-654-4173.


Fees

Hertz does not charge a fee for Hertz Mobile Alerts. However, message and data rates may apply. It is your responsibility to check with your individual carrier, as other charges may apply. Hertz assumes no responsibility for charges incurred by this text-messaging service. Any text-messaging fees that you incur will be billed on your individual wireless bill.

 

No Guarantee

Hertz cannot control certain factors relating to message delivery. Hertz does not claim or guarantee availability or performance of this service, including liability for transmission delays or message failures.

Compatible carriers include: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Alltel, US Cellular, Cellular One, MetroPCS, Rogers, Bell , and Telus.
