  • Interstate 68 (I-68) starts in Morgantown – as a spur of the I-79 – and runs east into Maryland. It also connects the city to Coopers Rock State Forest.
  • US Route 19 (US 19) cuts north to south through central West Virginia, crossing the Monongahela River into Morgantown and the WVU campus.
  • US Route 119 (US 119) is a spur of the US 19, which passes straight through Morgantown. It links the airport to Downtown and Dorsey’s Knob Park, before continuing towards Charleston.

How to Get From Morgantown Municipal Airport to Downtown

It takes around 10 minutes to drive your rental car from Morgantown airport to Morgantown’s Historic District:

  1. Leave the Hertz car rental lot at Morgantown Municipal Airport.
  2. Head north on to Hart Field Road.
  3. Take a slight right on to CR 857, then turn left on to US 119 South.
  4. At the roundabout, take the third exit to continue along the US 119.
  5. After two miles, turn left on to High Street and follow the road into Downtown.

 

How to Get From Morgantown to Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is just under an hour-and-a-half’s drive away when you rent a car from Morgantown. Just take the US 19 South out of the city and merge on to the I-79 North. Follow the I-79 across the Pennsylvania border for around 64 miles, then take Exit 59A to join the I-376 East towards Pittsburgh.
