  • US Route 64 (US 64) connects to US 1 and travels through the north of the city before continuing west where it meets the I-74.
  • US Route 1 (US 1) is also known as Claude E. Pope Memorial Highway. This road runs south of the city, continuing east towards Raleigh and southwest into South Carolina.
  • Interstate 40 (I-40) this road is just to the east of the city, on the outskirts of Raleigh. It’ll take you south towards the coastline or north towards Greensboro.

 

How to Get From Car Rental in Apex to Downtown Raleigh

It takes around 20-25 minutes to drive the 16 miles from our Apex rental car lot to downtown Raleigh:

  1. Leave the Apex car rental parking lot and turn right onto Laura Duncan Road.
  2. At the traffic lights turn right onto US 64 and then keep left to merge onto the Claude E. Pope Memorial Highway heading towards Raleigh.
  3. Keep right and take Exit 1A which will take you to the I-40 (Raleigh Beltline).
  4. Come off at Exit 299 and turn left to join Hammond Road. Keep following this as it becomes South Person Street.
  5. When you get to East Jones Street, you’ll find car parks ideally located for Downtown.

 

How to Get From Hertz Apex Car Rental to Wilmington

Wilmington is just a two-hour drive from our Apex car rental pick-up point. Head towards Raleigh and then take the I-40 heading west. Continue south and this will take you to the coastline.
