  • Interstate 5 (I-5) cuts right through Eugene from north to south. Follow it north for Salem, Portland and Seattle, or go south for Sacramento and, southwest of there, San Francisco. Renting a car makes it easier to move around the Eugene area.
  • Oregon Route 126 (OR-126) goes east to west through the city. East it leads through the Willamette National Forest, while west will take you to Florence and the coast.
  • Oregon Route 58 (OR-58) starts in Eugene and heads southeast along the Willamette River and into the Cascade Mountains, passing several lakes.

How to get from Eugene to Portland

Hip Portland is about 110 miles north of Eugene, a drive of around 90 minutes to two hours with your car rental. Simply follow the I-5N.
