Renting a holiday or business car rental makes your time in Chelmsford easier. It’s your ride – you’re in control.

Remember to drive your Chelmsford car rental on the left-hand side of the road in the UK, passing on the right. And be aware of changeable speed limits which can vary from 20mph in some urban areas to 70mph on freeways.

Join the A414 highway to the east of Chelmsford to pay a visit to Hylands Park and Hylands House, a Grade II-listed building. These extensive grounds undergo quite a transformation in August, when the award-winning V Festival turns the area into a lively music venue.

Walk along Southend Pier – the longest in the world – and breathe in the fresh sea air. You’ll find plenty of parking lots nearby, with a small fee to pay for parking during the day and then free of charge after 6pm.

You’re also just over 30 minutes away from the town of Colchester via the A12. From here, another 10 minutes will deliver you to the Roman ruins and medieval buildings of the center.

From Chelmsford, the M11 northbound will take you to the famous university city of Cambridge in about an hour. Punt along the River Cam or sit back and admire the sights from the water as a hired chauffer does the hard work for you.

Head in the opposite direction to London, making your way through Brentwood and joining the M25 followed by the A13. Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye are just a few of the world-famous landmarks you’ll see here.
