Where to return your hire car

You should allow between 30 minutes and one hour when you are driving to Charles de Gaulle Airport from the city center.

There are three terminals at Charles de Gaulle and Terminal 2 has seven sub-terminals (2A to 2G) – this is where you need to return your Hertz vehicle to.

Drop off your vehicle in the rental car building at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport between Terminals 2E and 2F. With Hertz, you can return your vehicle at any agreed time, including outside our business hours via a drop-box, where you can leave your rental keys and completed documents. Just follow the signs to drop your vehicle at the Hertz parking lot. Then simply walk into the terminal building and follow the signs to reach your departure area.

What to do when you return your hire car

When you return your vehicle, if it’s out of hours (between 06:00 and 00:00) a return key box is available at T1 and T2D and 2F. Van returns are available only on terminals 2D and 2F. The terminal 1 counter is located in the car park on level Red. At Terminal 2: C, D E and F, the Hertz counter and car park are located in the car rental park. Sub-terminal 2G is closed.

More things to know on your first drive

At the time of rental the driver must present a valid national driver's license, which has been held for at least 12 months. Please note, Declarations of lost/stolen driving licences are not accepted, provisional, probationary, dematerialised, damaged or altered licences are NOT accepted.

 

For all Non-European Union renters whose driver's licenses are not issued in roman script, an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation is mandatory. The IDP translates the national driver's licence into various languages and is not accepted without the national licence.

 

Foreigners that have been living in France for more than a year will need to present a national driver's license issued in France or any other European Union country, as well as a valid passport or European Union identity card.

 

Driver's licences issued by the People's Republic of China/ Japan may be accepted provided you present an official Hertz Certification form. Hertz China/ Japan will issue this form on Hertz notepaper and will incorporate the Hertz China/ Japan Corporate seal. A scanned copy of the original licence will appear on the Certification form. The Certification form is valid until the expiry date of the Driver's Licence. Both the Certification and the original licence (with an International Driving Permit strongly recommended by Police authorities in Europe) MUST be produced at the time of rental.

 

If you hold a Driver's Licence issued in Vietnam, you need to present the original licence together with an authorised translation issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport. If both documents are presented at time of rental these licences are acceptable worldwide.

Extra day is charged after 29 minutes over 24 hour rental period.

A one way rental is a rental which starts at one location and terminates at another. Availability is subject to location restrictions and vehicle type. A fee may apply for this service and will be advised at time of reservation.

 

One-way rentals are not available when renting the following vehicle groups:
