The 5 Most Romantic Places to Visit in Paris

A city with an unparalleled romantic atmosphere, Paris offers beautiful cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, quaint cafes, and lush parks.

Aptly called the City of Love, the French capital is a mecca for lovers, young and old. A visit to this amorous paradise with someone special should include at least one of these dreamy destinations:

1. Pont des Arts

The Pont des Arts pedestrian bridge over the River Seine offers a picturesque setting for a romantic walk. Although authorities removed the bridge's famed "love locks" in 2015, it still remains a popular destination for lovers who want to take a stroll. Complete your date by admiring the artwork at the Louvre Museum, which sits near the bridge's north side.

2. Montmartre

Lovers flock to Montmartre, charmed by its winding streets, small shops and cafes, and breathtaking views. Set on a hill in the northern part of the city, it is also an art lover's paradise. Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Salvador Dali, and Pablo Picasso once frequented its streets. Plan a stop to visit the garden at the Museum of Romantic Life. It offers an enchanting and private escape from the outside world.

3. Luxembourg Palace and Garden

Find historical beauty and charm at Luxembourg Palace and Garden. Stroll through the garden, the largest in the park, and absorb the lush romantic setting of fountains, statues, and beautiful flowers set against the backdrop of a 17th century palace. The garden was allegedly a favorite of some of history's famous couples, including Napoleon and Josephine and Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir.

4. The Wall of "I Love You's"

Le Mur Des Je T'aime, or The Wall of "I Love You's," is a unique attraction located in the 118th arrondissement. Created by Frederic Baron and Claire Kito, this wall features the words "I love you" written more than 300 times in 250 different languages. A stunning work of art, it is a favorite stop for lovers.

5. Place des Vosges

Enjoy a leisurely picnic with a majestic background at the Place des Vosges, Paris's oldest square. Set against a 17th-century building, it is one of the few parks in Paris that allows visitors to sprawl on the grass to enjoy their meals. Alternatively, take in the atmosphere with a stop at one of the nearby restaurants or cafes.

Paris offers many romantic spots for lovers, making it challenging to choose the best locations to visit.
