Hertz at Sortland

The Norwegian archipelago of Vesterålen, in the northwest of the Scandinavian country is where you'll find the town of Sortland. Due to Sortland's place above the Arctic Circle, during a month in the summer the sun does not go down - and conversely for a month during the winter, it does not come up. This is when you'll get the best view of the Northern Lights; solar storms dancing in the sky as humongous natural light displays - truly a sight to behold if you're in the region.

Hire a car in Sortland and the islands of the Vesterålen are easily accessible by bridge, as is the Norwegian mainland. Capital Oslo is a good few hours away but well worth the trip for its tourist attractions and great food.
