When is Portimão?

The 6 Hours of Portimão is a Word Endurance Championship race that takes place in April. It often marks the second race of the season and takes place at the Algarve International Circuit on the Portuguese south coast.  

How Do You Get to Portimão?

Planes, trains, automobiles? Let’s take a look at some of the different modes of transport you can use to get to the racetrack .

By Plane

The closest airport is Faro Airpor, located 40 miles away, or about a one hour drive by car. There are no direct flights from the US to Faro, but many one-stop options are available, from the likes of New York, Boston, and Los Angeles airports.

By Train 

A train from Faro takes around one hour and 16 minutes, with roughly 12 trains a day to Portimão. Trains operate from dawn till dusk.  

By Car  

For those who value freedom and scenic views, rent a car with Hertz at Faro Airport and hit the A22 freeway. Enjoy the picturesque Portuguese countryside at your pace and savor the convenience and luxury of driving a Hertz vehicle.
