When you hire a car in the UK, you'll need to present your driving licence (an International Driving Permit may also be required if your licence isn’t in English), a credit or debit card in your name, the card used for booking, and an additional form of ID, such as a passport. If you have an additional driver that you’d like to add to your rental, they'll need to provide their driving licence as well.

Yes, you can change or cancel your car hire reservation online through the View/Modify/Cancel button on the website or by contacting the Hertz Customer Care team. If you cancel a prepaid reservation at least two days ahead of your pick-up date, you will receive a full refund.

The minimum age to rent a car with Hertz is 21. However, if you are under 25, you may not be able to rent certain models, and a young driver surcharge may apply.

Hertz accepts several payment methods, including major credit and debit cards (some restrictions may apply), as well as Hertz Charge Cards (HCC) for corporate customers and One Trip Travel Orders (OTTO). The card used for payment must be in the main driver's name. Cash isn’t accepted.

Depending on the vehicle type and your planned route, you can return your rental car to a different location. A one-way fee may apply, and you can confirm the availability for your chosen route at the Hertz rental desk or during the online booking process.
