Time to drop off your rental back at the airport? Here’s everything you need to know.
Where to return your rental car
To return your rental car to us at Barcelona Airport, park in the car park allocated to your Hertz terminal desk, then drop your keys back off with us. For Terminal 1, head to Level 0, Zone A. To get there, you need to:
- Follow C-31 out of the city center. Keep on this road, following signs for the airport.
- Take Exit 189 onto B-22, towards Terminal 1.
- Continue, then turn left into the terminal.
- Follow signs for the car park, then head to Level 0, Zone A.
For Terminal 2, head to the car park in front of the terminal building. To get there, simply:
- Head out of the city center and get onto C-31. The route will be the similar to the route if you were heading towards Terminal 1.
- Continue on C-31, following signs for the airport.
- Take exit 192 onto B-22, towards Terminal 2.
- Continue on B-22, and then C-32B. This will take you straight to the Terminal 2 car parks at the front of the terminal building.
What to do when you return your rental car
When you’ve parked your rental car back up at the relevant terminal car park, simply walk over to us at the Hertz desk to hand over your keys. Our helpful staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about your rental and complete your return.

Simply let our staff know when you pick up your rental vehicle or contact the Barcelona Airport branch once you are on the road to arrange for an extended rental period.

Does Hertz charge late return fees?
Hertz charges late return fees, though charges depend on your car rental location. You may be charged late fees on your airport car rental if you fail to return the vehicle at the designated time. Most EU locations offer a grace period of 29 minutes, but if you complete your return later than this, you may be charged for an extra day’s rental.
How can I pay for my Hertz car rental at Barcelona Airport?
Hertz accepts payments at our desks via debit or credit card at the end of your rental period. It’s possible we may run a credit card check just to make sure you’re able to pay for your rental car. You may also need to present us with a form of legal ID, such as your passport, so we can make sure it’s you.
