Rental Qualifications and Requirements

Motorists must have a valid vignette when entering the motorways M0, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, M15, M25, M30, M31, M35, M43, M44, M51, M70, M76, M85 and M86.     

All Hertz vehicles registered in Hungary are equipped with the e-vignettes. For vehicles not registered in Hungary, e-vignettes can be purchased at gas stations or on the official website. 

There is no need to put the motorway sticker on your windshield as payment is inspected electronically without stopping the vehicle by your license plate number at any point within the territory.   

Fines 

If a vehicle without a valid sticker is stopped by the police or highway controllers, a fine applies. The applicable surcharge amount depends on the circumstances of the violation and the applicable legislation.
