Rental Qualifications and Requirements

Driver's Licence issued in the EU, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein

All national driver's licences are accepted.

Only the credit card-sized format national driver's licence is accepted.

If you hold a non credit card-sized format national driver's licence, you must present an International Driving Permit (IDP) at the rental counter.

Driver's Licence issued in Vietnam

The original licence together with an authorised translation issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport must be presented. If both documents are presented at time of rental these licences are acceptable worldwide.

Driver's Licence issued in People's Republic of China/ Korea

Driver's licences issued by the People's Republic of China/ Korea may be accepted provided you present an official Hertz Certification form. Hertz China/ Korea will issue this form on Hertz notepaper and will incorporate the Hertz China/ Korea Corporate seal. The Certification form is valid until the expiry date of the driver's licence. Both the Certification and the original licence (with an International Driving Permit strongly recommended by Police authorities in Europe) MUST be produced at the time of rental.

Driver's Licence issued in the rest of the world

International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory.
