Rental Qualifications and Requirements

The following forms of payment are accepted when booking on the websites: most major credit cards, some debit cards* and the Hertz Charge Card (HCC).

A valid physical Debit or Credit card is required for all car rentals to secure deposits and extra fees.

* If you made your booking with a debit card, you will need to present the debit card and one or more credit card when picking-up the vehicle. However, you may opt to pay by other means at termination of rental, subject to specific terms and conditions being met.

For all bookings, the person in whose name the vehicle is booked MUST be the person whose credit card is used. The person who makes the booking MUST be the person to whom the vehicle is rented. The renter MUST produce the same credit card when picking up the vehicle that was used for the booking for identification and security reasons. If the card originally used has expired, been lost/stolen, you must produce the replacement card from the same card issuer. The card must be in your name and the issue/expiry dates should correspond to those of the original card.

Exceptions:

- Travel agent bookings where IATA number is present and the travel agent's credit card is used to pay for the rental; 

- Third party bookings through an on-line retailer provided the booking is made in the name of the person who will pick up the vehicle and he/she is qualified accordingly

- Corporate account bookings made with a Corporate Lodge card

Please note that when renting in Sweden, Hertz may perform a credit check. This must be approved in order for you to rent the vehicle you have booked.

At the time of rental an authorisationis obtained on your credit card (see table below). There must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges.

 Credit cards

Acceptable credit cards: AirPlus card, American Express, Diners Club, Hertz Charge Card (HCC) plus a credit card, Mastercard / Eurocard, Mileage Plus First Card, Moevenpick, Visa and Volvo card.

Debit cards

Debit cards are accepted as a method of payment for all vehicle groups.

Please note that debit cards are accepted only if the following conditions are met:

·         The cardholder's details on the card are embossed;

·         The card carries issue and expiry dates;

·         Flying "V" and floating "M" symbols are present;

·         The card carries the Visa or Mastercard / Eurocard logo and is accepted by bankcard processors.

Vouchers

Full Credit Voucher (FCV), Limited Value Voucher (RCV) and One Trip Travel Order (OTTO) for foreign renters are accepted if accompanied by a debit card or credit card.

Full Credit Vouchers (FCV), Limited Value Voucher (RCV) and One Trip Travel Orders (OTTO) for Swedish citizens are accepted without additional form of payment.

Miscellaneous Charge Orders (MCO) are accepted as a vouchers: same conditions apply. MCO vouchers issued by the following airlines are not accepted: Continental, Eastern, Midway and Intair.

Special Conditions

 Cash

Cash is not accepted neither as a form of payment nor as a deposit.
