What happens on the day of the car rental?
As soon as your rental car is ready, we will send you a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alert by either email, SMS or both, depending on your profile selection. The message will include the rental car we have selected for you and the plate number. At U.S. airports with Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Boards, the stall number the rental car is parked in will be posted, so you can go straight to your rental car and get on your way. At other Hertz locations, you need to pick up the keys and contract from a Hertz representative.
What if I want a different car?
We want you to always have the best rental car experience. So if you would like a different car, you have two choices:

What if I am late?
If you are late or we need to change your rental car, we will send you a message to let you know. Just come straight to the Gold Counter when you arrive and we will get you on your way.
What if I don’t need the rental car anymore?
Just call the phone number in the message or click the link to Hertz.com to cancel the rental car reservation. We appreciate you letting us know.
What happens if I don’t receive my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alert?
Just check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Board on arrival or step over to the Gold Counter. Also check that the email address and mobile phone number in your profile are up to date. For SMS Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Gold Alerts, you will need to respond to the Opt in Message (see details below) before you can start receiving them.

Please read the following information on our Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alerts service by SMS:
SMS messages are distributed via third party mobile network providers and, as a result, Hertz cannot control certain factors relating to message delivery. Depending on the recipient's mobile provider service, it may not be possible to transmit the SMS message to the recipient successfully.
To opt-in to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alerts, go to the Personal and Contacts section of your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® profile at Hertz.com. Please ensure that you have provided a U.S. mobile phone number. Check the SMS Text Messaging option and save your settings.
Change of mobile phone number
If you choose to change the mobile phone number on your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile, you will need to opt in and respond to the SMS opt in message again. If you change the mobile phone number to a non-U.S. number you will automatically be opted out of receiving Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alerts by SMS.
You may opt-out of receiving SMS messages by managing the Mobile Alerts section of your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile at Hertz.com. Simply uncheck the Mobile Alerts SMS option and save your settings. A confirmation SMS will be sent. You will no longer receive SMS Text Messaging from Hertz unless you Opt in again.
Hertz does not charge a fee for this service. However, message and data rates may apply. It is the user's responsibility to check with their individual carrier, as other charges may apply. Hertz assumes no responsibility for charges incurred by signing up for this text-messaging service. Any text-messaging fees that you incur will be billed on your individual wireless bill.
At any time, you can get additional help by texting the word HELP in response to any Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Mobile Alert SMS from your mobile device or you can call 1-800-654-3131.
