Keep in mind that most auto insurance policies may not cover truck and van rentals -- so carefully check your insurance policy. You might then consider whether the Optional Protection Plans offered by Hertz suit your needs.

Limited Loss Damage Waiver (LLDW): Waives or reduces your responsibility for loss of or damage to the vehicle from most causes, provided the truck or van is used in accordance with all terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement. LLDW is not insurance.

Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS): In the event of an accident, LIS provides liability protection, not to exceed a combined single limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence, for bodily injury and/or property damage claims. LIS is primary insurance.

Cargo Protection Insurance (CPI): CPI provides up to $15,000 coverage on included losses, with each claim subject to a $100 deductible.
